We’ve had a further fantastic response from you and exceeded our target for the collection for Derek – with generous donations now totalling £1,200.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The dedication tree will cost £400 and as requested by Derek’s partner – David, we propose to donate the remainder to St Anne’s Hospice who cared for Derek in his last days.

The planting of the tree will take place on Friday 31 March at 11.00am.
Please join us if you can.

We’ve been in touch with Tatton Park and selected a location for the tree on the walk route that we take each year through the park. It’s at Duck Spinney by Tatton Mere – it’s a beautiful spot looking out over the lake and one which Derek would’ve liked very much. A White Poplar tree will be planted to replace one which has fallen on this spot. March 2017 is the 1st anniversary of Derek’s passing so the tree dedication is a fitting and timely tribute. There will be an entry in the memorial book to record the tree dedication, which is held in the house.

You are invited to attend the tree planting. Afterwards, we propose to visit a local pub for lunch and refreshments (at your own cost) to celebrate Derek’s life – please do join us if you can.

To attend the tree planting, the nearest car park to the location is at the north end of Tatton Mere (see the map below for location and other details). Parking/entry to the Park is £6 per car or £3 for blue badge holders. Alternatively you can park outside the park on King street or surrounding roads near to the Knutsford Drive entrance to the Park. Its quite a walk to the reach the location of the tree planting – probably about an hours walk and 2-3 miles. It will be muddy so please come suitably dressed and with a brolly incase it’s raining.

Many many thanks to those who have contributed. Your support is very much appreciated, particularly by David, Derek’s partner.
