Description
A six mile walk from Ainsdale to Formby along the beach and dunes.
Return to Ainsdale by train from Formby. Anytime single £3.20.
Virtually flat beach walk mostly. At the foot of the dunes as the tide will be in. Lovely open sea views with walk back up through the dunes to Formby station.
Places to eat and drink in both Ainsdale and Formby but nothing along the 6 mile route. Please bring something to eat and plenty of water.
Start Point and Time
Meet at Ainsdale beach ramp (near Pontins PR8 2PZ) for 12.30 start.
Parking at Ainsdale station (free PR8 3HJ) or on street along nearby residential roads. Just walk down Shore Road towards the beach. Beach parking closed due to tides.
Directions to Start
From Manchester take M62 towards Liverpool then M57. Carefully follow Southport signs at end of motorway and continue to Ainsdale which is just south of Southport.
