Walk description
This easy walk is approximately 6 miles and mainly flat with some undulations at Daisy Nook country park and the Park Bridge heritage centre. There are a few flights of stairs at the railway footbridge before Daisy Nook, but this obstacle can be avoided if necessary, by joining the walk slightly later: contact Simon for details.

Daisy Nook Country Park is in the heart of the Medlock Valley. The park is a great habitat for wildlife and with an abundance of creatures from great-spotted woodpeckers and owls, to foxes and squirrels.  On arriving at Daisy we can take a refreshment/toilet break. Once we’ve passed through Daisy Nook we meander on to Park Bridge heritage centre which was formerly a family owned ironworks for nearly 200 years. Park Bridge is our Lunch stop.

From Park Bridge we head along a well defined path to Ashton town centre where you can either take the replacement bus* back to Manchester or Ashton Moss metrolink park and ride if you have travelled by car

The walk is suitable for dogs but there is no pub stop unfortunately. Walking shoes are suitable for the walk but some of the park trails can be wet and muddy
