Out on Sunday logo

We have all missed our Sunday walks (and weekend away). But we have now had confirmation that provided we limit the number of walkers in the group and we comply with COVID secure guidelines, we may resume our Sunday walks.

To meet those guidelines there will have to be a few changes to the way we organise and conduct our walks.

• Walk leaders will carry out a risk assessment for the walk as they do now, but in future it will focus on COVID risks and will be written down (you can see a copy here when it is ready)

• There will be a limit on each walk (ours will be less than 30) so you must book a place in advance. For instructions click Booking Your Walk

• If you turn up without booking you will be unable to walk with the group

• The name and contact details of all those on the walk will be held for 21 days and may be passed to the NHS Test and Trace service

• By participating in an OoS walk you agree to comply with the official guidelines on COVID-19 and instructions of the Walk Leader. And you accept that you take part in any walk entirely at your own risk

Our first walk will be:

Worsley Village and the Bridgewater Canal
Sunday 06 September             Led by Patrick     (0770 8152106)

It is about 5 miles, easy flat walking mainly on solid, established paths, most of which is well sheltered. At the beginning, there are a number of busy main roads to cross, and the walk passes briefly through a golf course, though not near any playing areas. The canal towpath is well established, but may be a little muddy if there has been rain. Both on the loop and towpath, there will be cyclists and other walkers. The Loop path is very wide, but the towpath less so.

If this walk appeals to you then read instructions  Booking Your Walk  and email us at general@outonsunday.co.uk
