Description
This is a circular 6.5 mile walk from the edge of Daisy Nook Country Park to Hartshead Pike, taking in part of the Tameside Trail, Park Bridge Heritage Centre, the Pike, the historic hamlet of Hartshead Green and crossing the River Medlock in places. By the time we reach the Pike we will have climbed 300m (worth it for the panoramic views!) We will stop for lunch here. I recommend sturdy boots as it MAY be a bit muddy in places.

Start Point and Time
Daisy Nook car park (NOT the main Country Park car park), just off the A627 between Ashton and Oldham. This is a free, small car park and, if full (unlikely), you will need to park several yards away on the main road. Meet for 12 noon.

Directions to Start
If coming from Ashton (the easier route) leave the M60 at J23 and follow signs for Oldham onto the A627. The car park is about a mile, just over the River Medlock bridge immediately on your left. From Oldham (M60 J22) go through Hollinwood area and turn right onto the A627. The car park is about a mile and a half, just on the right before you cross the river.
