Helmshore and Marbury Tor – 10 May 2026

Seventeen walkers journeyed to the small industrial village of Helmshore for this terrific walk. They met up at Helmshore Textile Museum where some had coffee and cake and then made their way up the stunningly beautiful valley, once a Royal Deer Park and now a long-gone industrial setting. The weather was perfect for walking and the photographs taken by the group were excellent. On returning to Helmshore, the group retired to the Robin Hood public house for a well-earned post-walk libation. Many thanks to Malcolm C for leading the walk and to his partner John G who reconnoitred the walk with him.
