In the shadow of Pendle Hill | 16 November 2025

A very muddy and boggy walk underfoot today, after torrential rains in the previous few days from Storm Claudia. Thankfully, sun and blue skies greeted us and although a chilly day, the sun was a welcome break from gloomy skies. Eleven hardy walkers gathered for the walk, led by Dave H, along the flanks of Pendle Hill – a new walk/location for most. There were a few steady inclines and decents as its a hilly place but everyone coped really well and the general concensus was that it was a great walk. We finished with a rest and refreshments, sat outside at The Cabin cafe in Barley car park – hot chocolate and baileys was very welcome.
