You may know by now that this year’s Out on Sunday weekend away is taking place at Llangollen, Denbighshire, North Wales, between Friday 16 and Sunday 18 September 2022. Llangollen is approximately 70 miles from the centre of Manchester.
Planning for the weekend is already in hand with Alan. O, David. R, Cliff. B and Colin. P, making a first visit to Llangollen to reconnoitre a suitable walk and to do some fact finding.
We will be publishing a full itinerary in good time for the weekend, but in the meantime here is a taster of what to expect:
Friday 16 September
- The weekend starts with an informal gathering at one of Llangollen’s public houses from around 7 pm. The venue for this will be confirmed in advance.
Saturday 17 September
- The main walk of the weekend will be a lovely 7.5 mile walk taking in Llangollen’s main history sites and some of the stunning scenery surrounding the town.
- For those who do not want to join us on the walk, we will be suggesting to some alternative activities or places to visit.
- In the evening there will be a group meal. A booking has already been made at The Hand Hotel in Llangollen. Full details of the menu and cost will be posted during the first week in August.
Sunday 18 September
- We will be offering a shorter walk on the Sunday to allow members of the group good time to make their journeys home. What we have in mind is a linear walk either to or from the spectacular Pontcysylite Aqueduct in Trevor. Again, this will be confirmed nearer the time.
- The weekend will end after this walk.
