Description

This week’s ambulation follows part of the Cheshire Ring canal system. It begins at Lymm village where we join the Bridgewater Canal for our outward journey. We will walk along the banks of this delightful canal for three miles until we reach the charming village of Grappenhall.  Once there we will stop for refreshment at one of the two public houses sited next the Church and the village stocks.  After our break we walk along three short residential roads in order to join the Trans Pennine Way for our return journey to the place where we began.  Not too far from the walk’s end is the centre of Lymm village where there is a fine cafe for those who require further refreshment before heading homeward.  This is a very easy walk which is suitable for all.  There is only one short incline at Lymm; otherwise the route is extremely flat.

Start Point and Time

The meet-up time is 12:00 and the meeting point is the car park on Statham Avenue to the side of Lymm Hotel.
