Walks update
Easing of the lockdown regulations now seems to permit (i) travel to exercise and (ii) exercise with a person outside your immediate household. As always, members have to decide what level of risk they are willing to take but this may be an opportunity to go out and reccie some walks for when we are able to restart walks.
2020 programme
By this weekend we will have missed 8 walks due to the Coronavirus emergency and it is very unlikely that the walks programmed between now and August will take place. At the moment we don’t know when we will be able to recommence Sunday walks but these are the walks scheduled for the rest of the year, from August onwards:
2 Aug | Longford and Sale Water Parks | Andrew J |
9 Aug | Millers Dale | David & Steve |
16 Aug | Hilbre Island | Brian M |
23 Aug | Capesthorn Hall | Colin & Cliff |
30 Aug | Manchester Pride weekend (no walk) | Pride cancelled |
6 Sep | Irlam Station Circular | Patrick P |
20 Sep | Dovestone Reservoir | Geraint W |
4 Oct | Macclesfield Canal and Middlewood Way | Alan O |
18 Oct | Tandle Hill | Patrick P |
1 Nov | Pendle | Dave H |
15 Nov | Tatton Park | David & Steve |
29 Nov | Whitegate Way | Cliff & Colin |
13 Dec | Xmas Meal: Cosy Club Manchester | To be confirmed |
Weekend away 2020
As you know this year’s weekend away at Hexham has unfortunately had to be cancelled – there have been a few ideas floating around about a weekend break in the spring next year so that we’re not waiting until next June / July for our weekend get-together. Any ideas or suggestions very welcome – please get in touch!
Email problems
Unfortunately, due to problems with the email system any mail sent to general@outonsunday.co.uk (including messages directly from the website) between mid December 2019 and the end of March 2020 didn’t get through to Out on Sunday. If you sent any e-mail during this time and haven’t had a reply this is the reason – please resend if necessary, email is now fully functional again.
WhatsApp group
An Out on Sunday WhatsApp group was set a couple of months ago to enable members to keep in touch and support each other during these very strange and unprecedented days. If you emailed to ask to join back in March it’s possible that the email didn’t get through (see above). More details available here https://www.outonsunday.co.uk/index.php/notice-board/192-out-on-sunday-whatsapp-group
