Description
A fairly easy 7 mile walk in Moses Gate Country Park along historic canal towpaths and through countryside. There is a pub towards the later end of the walk but it might be best to bring your own sandwiches and drinks as the pubs kitchen may not be fully operational when we get there.
Walking boots are recommended as the paths tend to be very muddy.
Start Point and Time
We start the walk from the car park of Moses Gate Country Park car park which is free to park. Aim to park towards the bottom end of the car park where will shall meet at 12.00pm.
Directions
Take the turning for Farnworth off the A666 St Peters Way Towards Bolton. After you have gone through Farnworth town centre you reach the traffic lights before the A666 flyover and turn right towards Little Lever. Moses Gate Car Park is just a few hundred yards on the right after you turn. Postcode for the park is BL4 7QS.
