Description

A beautiful 7 mile walk which is moderate in grade with fabulous views.

This is one of my favourite walks in the Goyt Valley.

We start from the car park and climb gradually to a lovely viewpoint where it is possible to see into Staffordshire and the Roaches hill range.

We then descend and after going past a small wood we stop for a lunch break in the old ruins of a former country manor from the Victorian period.

We then continue back on this circular route and we pay a visit to a small secluded chapel where the Spanish governess from the manor house used to worship.

Please wear sturdy boots as the paths could be muddy.

Bring sandwiches and drinks as there is nowhere to purchase refreshments.
