Parbold and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal- 30 March 2025

Our Mother’s Day walk coincided with the start of British summertime and the weather didn’t disappoint us. It was a lovely sunny day but a bit of a chilly wind on the open moors and canal. 17 walkers turned out for the walk despite losing an hours sleep after the clocks went forward. The walk along the canal and up onto Parbold Hill was enjoyed by all. It was hazy in the distance so we couldn’t quite see Liverpool Cathedral or the Welsh mountains. The Fairy Glen was a treat though with dappled sunlight breaking through the trees. We arrived back in Parbold with plenty of time for a drink in The Windmill pub.
