Description
This is an easy, 7 mile walk through Prestwich Clough, part of the Irwell Valley Trail and around Clifton Country Park. Parts of the walk may be muddy, so sturdy walking shoes are recommended.
There will be a stop for lunch at Clifton Country Park. There are toilets at the Visitor Centre, but no cafe. At the end of the walk the Church Inn (a walker and dog friendly pub) will be open if anyone would like a drink (they do serve good value hot food, but only until 4pm).

Start Point and Time
Meet outside St Mary’s Church, Church Lane, Prestwich (M25 1AN) at 12.00 noon.
Directions to Start
Church Lane is off the A56 Bury New Rd opposite Aldi. There should be free parking spaces on the road near the church/pub. You can also reach the meeting point by taking the Metrolink (Bury line) to Prestwich. Walk through the shopping precinct and turn left on Bury New Rd. Church Lane is about 800yds on your right.
