Ramsbottom Circular – 24 May 2026

On one of the warmest days of the year thus far, the group assembled at the lovely heritage railway station at Ramsbottom, before setting off towards the Peel Tower monument. The group skirted the hill and followed the path of an ancient packhorse way which took us through delightful pre-industrial hamlets. We then descended into the woods at Holcombe Brook before making our refreshment stop at the charming village of Summerseat. The group returned to Ramsbottom through woodland and along tracks and then most of the walkers made a bee-line to the local ice cream parlour.
