AKA the “Two Pub Walk” – Stephen M led this pleasant and easy walk along the Bridgewater Canal towpath as far as The Old Boat House pub where we stopped for lunch and an opportunity for a swift visit to the Lancashire Mining Museum at Astley Green.

Retracing our steps along the canal towpath there was a rare chance for a second pub stop at The Moorings for those who wished to partake.
