On a very sunny spring day there was a good turnout of 28 walkers to explore the gardens and house site of Lord Leverhulme at Rivington and then up to the highest point of the Estate where we had spectacular 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside and to Blackpool and beyond. We then proceeded by a circular route back through the gardens to complete the 6 mile part of the walk. A number of the more energetic walkers went on to complete an additional 2 miles along the reservoir to the replica of Liverpool Castle and back.
