Description
An easy flat 6 mile walk along the banks of the River Mersey from Sale Water Park tram stop to Fletcher Moss and Parsonage Gardens.
The walk is predominantly along the river’s edge so walkers are advised to be particularly careful as the banks may be slippery. Suitable footwear for these conditions is advised.
We will walk from outside the tram station to the River Mersey where we will cross over the footbridge and turn right along the footpaths in the direction of Didsbury. We will stop for lunch near Northenden and sit on the banks of the river so please bring your own lunch and drinks as there is nowhere to purchase anything from on the route.  Please also bring a rug etc to sit on in case the ground is wet.  After lunch we will carry on and walk to Fletcher Moss and stop outside the Alpine Tearoom café which offers hot / cold food, cakes and snacks.  There is also Parsonage Gardens to look around, a small garden with some lovely trees.  Afterwards we will walk for about 10 minutes to Didsbury tram station and return via tram to Sale Water Park .
