Sunday 14th June: Peel Park to Kersal Moor Circular
The group assembled in the car park of Salford City Art Gallery before retiring to the gallery’s café for pre-walk refreshments. We set off through Peel Park along the River Irwell before finally emerging at Kersal wetland – the site of a former race track. Having crossed the bridge over the river we ascended a lengthy flight of steps before emerging from the woods for a short amble towards Kersal Moor for our refreshment stop. We returned to the Art Gallery through part of Broughton and through Peel Park. Almost everyone made a second visit to the gallery café before setting off to their respective homes.
