Description

Distance 6miles / 10 Km. We will stop at the Carr Mill Carvery, however on Sundays, ordering a meal may take a long time so a drink with a packed lunch is advised.

Although mostly a flat walk much of the pathway is basic soil surface so can be muddy  / slippery in wet weather.  Suitable walking boots are required and care taken to look out for crossing tree roots.

Meet at 12:30pm – Sankey Valley Country Park Visitor Centre, Rear of Ship Inn, Blackbrook Road, St Helens. WA11 0AB.

Directions to Start 

Turn off the M6 at J23 towards Liverpool/St Helens on the A580 (East Lancs).  After about 3.6km / 2.25mile turn left onto the A58 St Helens road. The car park is on the right after about 1.2km / .75mile

Sankey Valley Country Park Visitor Centre is situated off Blackbrook Road (A58), Blackbrook, St.Helens, at the side of the Ship Inn public house where we can have a drink at the end.  The car park is situated to the rear of the pub and can accommodate approximately 30 vehicles, no charges.

The Visitor Centre can be reached by travelling on the number 20, 320 or 620 buses from St.Helens town centre
