Description

A cheeky additional walk to this year’s programme. Following the group’s excellent and enjoyable Christmas meal, and in response to some members talking about meeting up between Christmas and the New Year, we offer a repeat of the recent walk at Styal Country Park. Colin and I hope you can join us to walk off some of that seasonal over indulging!

This is a moderate 5 mile walk beginning and ending at Quarry Bank Mill carpark. The walk follows well established and well used paths which are likely to be muddy at this time of year and therefore we recommend you wear stout footwear.

There are two or three steep climbs en route, which we climb and descend using purpose built steps.

We will take a shortish stop for refreshments on the bridge over the River Bollin before making our way back to Styal Mill where, if it is open, those wishing to take further refreshment can make use of the National Trust cafe.

Start Point and Time

Meet outside the visitors centre adjacent to the carpark at Quarry Bank Mill at 12.00 noon. This is a National Trust carpark which is free to use.

Directions to Start

The post code for Quarry Bank Mill is SK9 4LA
