Description
This is a gentle 5.5 mile walk with very few gradients and mixed scenery.  The walk includes a canal tow path, rural lanes, fields, woods and a golf course (but only at the very end).
It passes along the Bridgewater Canal until we arrive at Moore village. From here we cross the canal bridge and head up a short lane until we me meet the busy A56. Once over this road, we pass across some fields which bordering some private woods and we eventually arrive at the village of Hatton where there is a pub – the Hatton Arms. There is a beer garden at he pub and we propose stopping here for our break. It is a good opportunity to buy refreshments before setting off again for the second half of the walk.
On leaving Hatton we have some easy walking along well established paths. Again we will pass through fields or attractive woodland. At the end of the walk we cross through a golf course until we join the road next to the car park where we began. There is a pub nearby for those wanting a post walk drink and a visitors’ cafe near the entrance to the park.

Start Point and Time
We will begin the walk at the entrance of Walton Hall pay and display car park at 12:00 am.

Directions to Start Point
Getting to Walton Hall from Manchester is relatively quick and easy. You should take the M56 and leave at junction 10. Look for the signs for Warrington and travel towards Stockton Heath on the London Road. At the centre of Stockton Heath there is a junction with some traffic lights. Here you should turn left onto Walton Road. Go down Walton Road until you reach a ‘T’ junction. Turn left and follow the A56, past Walton Lea Crematorium until you see the signs for the Hall and the car park – you will see a large pub called the Walton Arms: This is close to the car park entrance.
Alternatively, you can get to the Hall via the M602 / M62 from Manchester. You exit the motorway at junction 9 and take the A49 Winnick Road going towards and through Warrington. The A49 circles the town centre and you need to look out for the A5060. The A5060 eventually joins the A56. Go past the Crematorium and look for the Hall and the car park.
For those of you with SatNavs the postcode of the Hall is WA4 6SN.
