The promise of cake and the fine Spring day brought out the walkers for this lovely mid-Cheshire amble. After setting off from the old station, the group made steady progress along the disused railway track until we diverted around two former gravel extraction pits – now small lakes. We then walked across a field used for growing carrots and then made our way into a small pine plantation where we took our refreshment stop. Onwards, we returned towards the same railway path and made another bee-line for the station cafe.
